Mick McCarthy is expected to be confirmed as the new Ipswich Town manager this morning.
The Barnsley boy who ahs managed Millwall, Sunderland and Wolves, as well as the Republic of Ireland, has held talks with Marcus Evans, is understood to have dined with ceo Simon Clegg last night.
Contract details are being finalised and McCarthy is expected to be unvieled today intime for him to take charge of the Blues at Birmingham City on Saturday.
