Ipswich Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Ipswich Town in the Kieffer Moore in the two one victory over Barnsley at the weekend at Oakwell was enough to earn them a place as manager of the side of the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why McCarthy was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘McCarthy enjoyed a winning return to his home town of Barnsley, but only after a couple of inspired half-time substitutions. Introducing David McGoldrick and new signing Martyn Waghorn with his side trailing, he watched on as the pair both notched to maintain the Tractor Boys’ perfect start to the season.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to McCarthy for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Alex Cairns (Fleetwood Town), Tommy Spurr (Preston North End), Jordan Forster (Cheltenham Town), Tim Ream (Fulham), Jake Jervis (Plymouth Argyle), Jorge Grant (Notts County), Andreas Bouchalakis (Nottingham Forest), Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (Cardiff City), Abel Hernandez (Hull City), Jack Marriott (Peterborough United), Kieffer Moore (Rotherham United).

Manager – Mick McCarthy (Ipswich Town).
