Manager Mick McCarthy has admitted that he was very disappointed with the manner of Norwich’s winning goal earlier today.

Norwich took the lead mid way through the first half and speaking to the Official Site McCarthy admitted that the manner of the goal irked him and unfortunately he felt it changed the course of the game.

‘The game wasn’t going anywhere until we conceded a soft goal from a corner. Someone shouted ‘keepers’. I don’t know who it was but it wasn’t Gerks. No one else should be shouting it. Skusey was marking Grabban. It was a disappointing goal from our end.’

Clearly ‘the manner’ of the goal and the insinuation there is pretty clear from the manager.

‘That changed the course of the game, they were better after the goal and for ten minutes, we were all over the place.’

McCarthy admits we stepped up in the second half and performed a lot better really, and he feels that Daryl Murphy should’ve found the net with his chance but unfortunately that’s football and if that had gone in, the game would’ve changed again and may have gone our way but that is the ‘fine margins’ that leave you happy one minute and devastated the next.

‘Norwich are a good side, down from the Premier League and have some very good players. There is no disgrace in losing to them, it’s just it hurts more to lose to your nearest and not so dearest.’
