McCarthy After Doyle Again

Mick McCarthy has been knocked back in a bid to sign striker vein Doyle from Wolves.

McCarthy knows the 30-year-old well from their spell at Molineux and hoped to secure him after a loan move to Middlesbrough appeared to fall through.

But Wolves boss Kenny Jacket said no and Reading are also said to be keen to take the Irish international.
