Marney For Town Rumours Resurface

Ipswich are ready to make another move for Burnley midfielder Dean Marney, according to reports in the north-west.

Birmingham and Cardiff are also in for holding player who has 18 months left on his current contract.

Town were linked with Marney in the past two transfer windows and with Grant leadbitter likely to move on after failing to agree a new deal with Town and Keith Andrews back with Blackburn, Paul Jewell needs a player of his ilk.

Burnley fans say he struggled earlier in the season to dislodge Marvin Bartley and Chris McCann from their central midfield roles but has recently come back into the reckoning, especially away from home where he is often used as a more defensive, holding midfielder in front of the back four.
