Jewell’s Topsy Turvey Thinking

Blues boss Paul Jewell can’t help but think what could have been as they go to Burnley hoping to prevent a sixth straight loss.

While the Clarets came from behind on saturday to beat Hull 3-2 Ipswich have lost their past three games 3-2, and the last two after leading 2-1.

Jewell knows how different things could have been, and how Burnley will be on a high after that win, following four defeats in a row.

“Burnley will be full of confidence,” said Jewell

“This league is so topsy-turvy. If we had got six points from the last two games, which we could have easily done, we would be a point off the top six with a game in hand.

“We have just got to get over the line and win a game. Football is about little hurdles and at the minute, if we are up with five minutes to go, it will be on the back of our minds.

“The only way to get over it is by winning matches. There is no magic formula, it is about hard work and graft.”
