After the five-star second half performance at Barnsley Town’s 1-0 win over Derby was a lot less classy but just as important.

Jewell admitted it was not so much Hollywood and added: “It was more like Channel 4.
‘It was scrappy Championship match with both teams desperate to get points. When you play in games like that you just want to get someonething out of it.

“It was a scrappy game. Derby edged the first half and we were indebted to Arran to keep us in the game.
“It was a battle in the second half and we were delighted get the three points.”

“We started the second half really well again just like last week but there was not a plethora of chances so it was a hard-fought 1-0.”

The game was decided when Derby keeper Frank Fielding flapped at an Aaron Cresswell cross and the ball went in off Keith Andrews.

Jason Shackell hacked it clear and the game played on until the referee went across to the linesman.

Jewell said: “It looked deep over the line. The players tell me it was a goal.
‘The big issue was the length of time it took to give the goal and that will be what Derby are annoyed about and I can understand that.
“If the lino had stuck his flag up there would have been no confusion.”

No one will mind as Town climb up a place to 19th – play-offs here we come.
