According to reports from Argentina, Banfield winger Luciano Civelli is on the verge of joining Ipswich.
The left winger looked set to join AEK Athens, who have reportedly been scouting the 22 year old, but Ipswich have had an improved bid accepted.
The exact details of the bid are still unknown, but the offer is believed to be £1 million for only 50% of the players rights, although Plymouth are said to be interested.
Banfield’s vice-president Carlos Portel said: ‘The offer from the English team is very interesting.”
“We’ve already analysed it at a board meeting, so the player could maybe be transferred in the next few days.”
Civelli is aware of the offer and told local press: ”If everything is so advanced as the press says, well, I will have to start to learn to speak in English.”
