Blues Look To Build On Recent Form

Habits by nature are easy to form but not easy to break so now that Town is back in the winning habit, let us keep it that way with another victory this evening!

On the other hand, Mick McCarthy is oft heard to say “a point will do just make sure you don`t lose!” And getting a point at Wigan would certainly do us no harm after the hard luck story of last season there, when we dominated play for the most part, only to lose 2-0 so it would indeed be a creditable result.

Perhaps I am being a bit greedy but I think we are the mood to win! Our last two home games have yielded 6 points and two clean sheets so why not? Yes, we are away and against a team that seem to have got the better of us in the majority of recent encounters but we are the team in form just now and I think either McGoldrick or Murphy will find the net tonight and better still if they both do! That is another good habit that I would love to see continue.

There is another good reason for aiming for a win and that is that if we get it, we will be catapulted up the table into 7th place and one point off the play-offs! Surely there is no greater incentive than that to go for a win and I expect Mick McCarthy to pick the same side tonight for the third time in succession.

The the only question that remains then is who will bench warm? It would be nice to see Darren Ambrose involved and perhaps Stephen Hunt too but he played another 90 minutes this afternoon for the under 21`s in a heavy defeat to Huddersfield. Although he is getting valuable game time I suspect this might rule him out of any action tonight but interestingly Ambrose played no part at all?!

Tommy Smith will be bench-warming again I suspect, along with our reserve keeper Bialkowski and I think Mick will probably have the ever improving Alex Henshall penciled in as well.

It promises to be a cracking game and because it is live on Sky, Town supporters from around the globe will want to see the action wherever they happen to be!
