Ipswich have yet again failed to land tranfer targets, even though the double deal with Peterborough’s Paul Taylor and George Boyd looked done last night.

Although the duo passed the medical and had agreed in principle initial terms, when it came down to the nitty-gritty Ipswich failed to provide the goods.

Chief executive Simon Clegg is hoping a deal can still be done in the next 36 hours, the transfer window closes at 11pm Friday night, and Posh boss Darren Ferguson has made moves to bring in their replacements.

Failure to land the pair may not be too much of a problem, as getting defensive cover has to be the priority.
