Travel sickness afflicted the Blues yet again but it could have been all so different.

Town raced to a 4-1 half-time lead but were pegged back to 4-4 as Derby responded to their new manager Steve McLaren’s half time rollicking.

Christophe Berra just got in front of on-loan defender Zak Whitbread, he off Norwich fame,to head in from an Aaron Crewel corner on six minutes.

Three minutes later Cresswell’s left-footed deliveries caused more problems as Daryl Murphy headed in.

Whitbread went from villain to hero when he headed in Ben Davies` 12th-minute corner but the impressive Cresswell made it 3-1 to Ipswich just 14 minutes in when he shot through the legs of home keeper Lee Grant.

Cresswell was the provider once more when Murphy nodded in another of his corner 11 minutes before half-time.

Derby fans were livid and booed thier team off at the break but the Rams cam out rejuvenated and Craig Bryson brilliantly pulled one back virtually straight from the kick off after a fine mazy run.

They grabbed a third on 61 minutes with Jamie Ward turning in Will Hughes’ cross from close range.

The Rams completed their fightback two minutes from time as Bryson took advantage of slack defending and buried the rebound after Whitbread’s header had been blocked.
