Bid Knocked Back For Boateng?

According to reports, Ipswich have had a loan bid knocked back by Hull for midfielder George Boateng.

The midfielder has only featured in four Premier League games so far this season. The Tigers are a club in turmoil – they are 18th in the league and nobody really knows what’s going on off the field.

In a relegation scrap, you need all the players you can get and it is no surprise to hear that they are unwilling to let Boateng go, especially with his experience.

Loanee Jack Colback has failed to hold down a regular place in the Town side, with manager Roy Keane preferring Liam Trotter. However, the youngster has been less than impressive in recent matches, and the reports, if true, suggest Keano is still looking for the perfect foil for Grant Leadbitter.

David Norris is set to return next month from injury, meaning Keane could still be looking for short term cover.

But is it not defenders and strikers we need?
