This week on Vital Ipswich, we’ve been asking you for your views on recent reports that Swansea City striker Craig Beattie could be among Roy Keane’s targets for a loan deal at Ipswich Town – and you didn’t seem too impressed…!

Rumours surfaced last week that former Celtic and West Brom striker Beattie was being targeted by the Town boss, who recently revealed that he has been in negotiations over a further loan signing following the arrival of Jake Livermore. The 26-year-old has suffered numerous injury setbacks in recent years and has found himself falling down the pecking order at Swansea, but this seems to have been all the more reason for Town fans to feel less than excited by the prospect of his signing.

In our poll – suggested by itfctillidie – we asked you whether you thought Ipswich should loan in Craig Beattie. You voted as follows:

34% = Yes – experienced striker and good backup
58% = No – too injury prone, no better than what we have
8% = Not sure / not bothered

Nearly 60% of respondents voted against Beattie being brought to Ipswich, unconvinced by what he could offer over existing talent at the club and concerned by his history of injury problems. Around a third did express interest in the Scottish frontman, who undoubtedly would provide experience to a fairly young front line at Portman Road, but it seems this is not enough to win the majority of fans over. Best look elsewhere, Keano…
