The April nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award are:
Benik Afobe (Wolverhampton Wanderers) – striker
English football’s leading scorer this season added another five goals by scoring in all but one of Wolves’ matches in April. Just as valuable as his positional sense and calmness in front of goal is his ability to create chances for others.
Adlene Guedioura (Watford) – midfielder
His vision and technique were on full display during April as he eased Watford towards promotion with a series of killer passes for goals against Derby County and Middlesbrough. The Algerian also popped up to score in the 2-0 win at Millwall.
Tom Ince (Derby County) – midfielder
A second successive nomination was earned with five more goals in six goals, three of them his side’s first goal in the match. While his team play was excellent, individual runs and finishes against Watford and Huddersfield Town stood out.
Cole Skuse (Ipswich Town) – midfielder
The unsung hero of the Ipswich side, his work-rate, covering, tackling and driving his side forward is appreciated by his teammates and opponents alike. In April he also found time to score with a superb rising shot against Cardiff City.
Winners will be announced on Friday May 1st 2015.
