AS the injury to Wayne Rooney looks increasingly likely to end his World Cup chances, Ipswich look set to cash in if Darren Bent starts for England in Germany.

The initial deal for the striker saw Town recieve £2.5 million as the forward moved to Charlton in the summer of 2005.

However, as part of the deal it was agreed that Ipswich would recieve a further £200,000 for each of Bent’s international appearences in the World Cup finals in June.

Bent, the top English goalscorer in the Premiership has made one senior England start against Uruguay earlier this year.

Bent’s chances of playing in Germany have significantly improved due to Rooney not being involved until the knock-out stages at least.
