Mick McCarthy is ready to move for his former Wolves player Stephen Ward.

Town are looking at Ward as a possible replacement for Aaron Cresswell who is likely to join Wigan in a £3 million move.

Former Ireland manager McCarthy signed Ward for Wolves from Bohemians in January 2007 as a striker but moved him to the left wing and then left back so his versatility would be useful.

But new Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has put Ward up for sale as they prepare for life in League One.
