Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton has confirmed that Gavin Williams is on his way out of Portman Road with Bristol City reported to be the team on the verge of signing the Welshman.

Williams, a full Wales international, is believed to have already agreed personal terms with the west country outfit and he is expected to be unveiled by tomorrow at the latest.

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has previously worked with Williams during their time at Hereford and it is understood that Johnson is a great admirer of the talented midfielder.

The fee Town will receive for Williams is being reported as somewhere around half-a-million – a figure which would see Town make a profit on the player who they signed for £250,000 from West Ham a couple of years ago.
