After scoring the goal which eventually won a point for Ipswich Aaron Cresswell admits the club should not be wallowing nigh bottom of the Championship.

Cresswell told the club website: “The fans play their hard-earned cash every week after working nine-to-five.

‘We appreciate their support and we need to give them something to shout for.

“A club as big as Ipswich should not be down the bottom – we should be pushing for promotion or the top six.”

With Town taking on high=flyers Brighton and cardiff this week, and Peterborough starting to win, it is hard not to be worried.

Cresswell said: “It is hard not to think about it. But we just have to focus on the job we have to do on the pitch. Hopefully we can nick the wins.

“Everything is not down to the manager, though I know he takes most of the pressure. It is down to the players in the squad.

“We are playing for him but we also have our own pride to play for.”
