After starting so well, things went daly wrong for the Superblues at Villa.

Scott Loach made a superb one handed save and Ipswich immediately broke down the right.

Michael Chopra, ran in from the right and hit a low drive which was helped into the net by Villa defender Lichaj.

Chopra could have had a second, which could easily have been too much for Villa, but his volley was aved by Shay Given.

A half-time rollicking by Paul lambert had the desired effect on Villa who pinned Town back for much of the second half.

That all-important second goal was scored by Benty who took it brillaintly. Seriously if Viall don’t wnat him we’d love to have him back.

His respect for Town was obvious in his subdued, head down, celebration.

Andi Weimann won the tie for Villa when he met Bennett’s inviting cross he sent a looping header over Loach.
