Oh dear lord I hope not.

Former loanee Jay McEveley, released by fellow Championship strugglers Derby, is apparently interesting Ipswich. Roy Keane is known to be after a left back after releasing full back David Wright and opting not to sign Liam Rosenior.

Young Shane O’Connor’s main position is left back and impressed in the final couple of months of the season although he has played in many positions for the reserves and other clubs. Tommy Smith and Damien Delaney are primarily centre backs but can operate on the left if needs be, while Pim Balkestein has also been let go. Jaime Peters has played pretty much everywhere for the Blues this season including the problem left back position.

Anyway yes, Mr McEveley, who was on loan with Ipswich four seasons ago, was also linked with a move here back in January but nothing ever came of the speculation. Hopefully it will be the same this time around.
