Despite working hard and giving it a go, Ipswich were beaten by a very good Watford side.
The Blues were undone by a goal in each half as Jonathan Hogg set up Ikechi Anya and then Nathaniel Chalobah.
Hogg also hit the crossbar with a 25-yarder and Fernando Forestierri had the ball in the net but the whistle had already gone.
Town had claim for a penalty turned down when Lee Martin tumbled in the box and Tommy Smith had a goal disallowed.
The Blues closed down quickly and looked to feed of Watford’s mistakes but the Hornets dug deep to weather the storm and take their chances.
