Ipswich Town are to unveil Watford striker Nathan Ellington as their third new signing of the summer this afternoon.

Ellington, who was on loan at Preston North End during the 2010/11 season, was reported to be a Town target over the weekend. Having recently revealed that he had made an offer for an unnamed striker, Blues manager Paul Jewell now looks to have swooped for the 29-year-old, who netted 59 goals in 134 league appearances for Jewell’s former club Wigan Athletic.

Ellington is understood to have been at Portman Road today for a medical and the signing looks set to be officially announced at a club press conference after 3:00pm this afternoon (Tuesday). Vital Ipswich will bring you further details later in the day.
