Andy Drury’s wish for regular football has taken a knock with Ipswich rejecting an undisclosed offer by Crawley Town for the midfielder.

Signed by by Jewell from Luton, Drury has rarely figured and enjoyed a three-month loan spell with the ussex club prompting manager Steve Evans to make a written offer for the 28-year-old last week.

But The Blues knocked it back with Keith Andrews due back at Blackburn Rovers next week, and now out with a hamstring problem.

“As far as I am concerned that will be the end of the matter unless Ipswich have a change of mind,’ Evans told The Argus.

“The player has been superb for us and very importantly wants to be here. Let us hope things can be sorted out and Andy`s real Christmas wish comes true.”
