Ipswich have today been linked with 3 players as possible summer signings – goalkeeper Thomas Sorenson and Leicester defenders Gareth McAuley and Richard Stearman.

Sorenson is not playing at Villa Park as on-loan Scott Carson is the first choice keeper there, but Villa boss Martin O’Neill is widely tipped to sign him permanently in the summer. Ipswich did make an approach for Sorenson in January, but O’Neill blocked the move as he had no other back up keeper.

Newly-relegated Leicster City could lose some players in the summer and Magilton is ready to test owner Milan Mandaric by making a bid for star full back Richard Stearman. The 20 year-old has been in fine form for Leicster this season and for the right price, could be the potential bargain of the season.

Leicster could also be raided for central defender Gareth McAuley. Magilton may put his toe in the water by next week, making a £600,000 bid for the Northern Irish international. McAuley was another failed January bid, with an offer believed to be around £1.5m being turned down by Leicster.

  • All 3 of these players would strengthen our squad, Leicester’s GK Paul Henderson’s is also good.

  • all three would make great signings! though I have my doubts as to whether Stearman would come to us when premier league clubs are showing an interest.

  • Right… Call me crazy, but I love this stuff. Transfer rumours!! A whole summer ahead, how many names will we get this time. I sure hope Magic Jim will be a bit more successful this time though. Disappointing to miss out on the playoffs, but with a few additions I reckon Town could start the new campaign with all guns blazing.
