Town Back On Sky On Saturday Night!

Sky Sport One are televising Ipswich Town’s next game at Portman Road and let us just hope the blues can enthuse.

A win is perhaps the most important thing but with Town supporters around the world glued to television sets in bars and restaurants, it would be nice if we could in some style.

I know this is now sounding rather boring but the reality is there are no easy games in the Sky Bet Championship so it is important that the home side start well.

Freddie Sears is back to his favourite haunt which is running through the middle, where he gets most of his goals and with David McGoldrick showing no ill-effects from his twenty minutes with the Republic of Ireland, there is every hope we can do just that.

Forest find themselves in 20th place in the table so if you think we are misfiring then it is worth taking a look at them.

We often complain that it is time for Mick McCarthy to go but if you look at our visitors you may have second thoughts?

They have gone through a staggering eight managers in less that four seasons and with the squad seemingly in a relegation tussle, the latest managerial casualty could well be Philippe Montanier.

He was appointed on the June 27th this season on a two year contract, having previously managed Real Sociedad among others but is now under considerable pressure to turn things around.

The problem emanates it seems from their new owner Al-Hasawi from Kuwait who does not appear to be able to wait for anyone!

He purchased the club in July 2012 and this was the beginning of the clubs managerial merry go round. The Al-Hasawi family told press at the time that they had a long-term vision for the club, based around a 3-5-year plan but that time frame has almost expired.

If Town win on Saturday it could spell the end for Montanier too and just to think that only weeks ago even our manager looked as if his job was on the line!
