Ipswich target Alan Gow has turned down a move to Championship rivals Burnley after failing to agree personal terms.

Earlier in the week, Ipswich chief executive Derek Bowden confirmed that the club had made a bid for young Burnley and Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty, but he had his heart set on a move to boyhood club and SPL giants Rangers.

The Lafferty deal was set to see Alan Gow plus a great wad of cash move to Turf Moor, but today the Gow move broke down although not affecting the Lafferty transfer.

Alan Gow was a reported target of Ipswich last summer before joining the SPL and UEFA Cup runners-up, but made only two appearances for Gers, against East Fife and East Stirling. Despite having two years left on his Rangers contract, Gow is expected to be let go at the right price with Ipswich alerted to the ex-Falkirk star’s availability.

Ipswich have been in the striker hunt all transfer window. He joins the likes of Crewe striker Nicky Maynard, linked earlier today, Shola Ameobi and Emile Mpenza in the list of possible strikers.
