Striker Attacking Interest

Rumours of players leaving Ipswich haven’t been that strong at the moment, they have been more about players coming to Portman Road.

It’s not a ‘strong rumour’ by any means but the Sun on Sunday claimed that Fulham are looking to sign David McGoldrick this summer to spearhead their premier league return bid.

The Sun is hardly written the paper it’s printed on, in my opinion, and if they really think that Ipswich would be tempted into selling McGoldrick for a measly £2m then it is even less worthy than I thought!

McGoldrick might be moving into the final year of his contract, so his value will detract, but it’s believed that when he signed it was a two-year deal with the option of a third so the 26-year-old would in fact technically still have two-years left so that makes a lesser valuation even less likely to happen.

No doubts his goalscoring exploits will garner attention but I’d expect McGoldrick to be fit and firing after a knee injury with Ipswich in pre-season, not Fulham, wouldn’t you?
