On-loan Manchester United full-back Danny Simpson believes he is unlikely to stay beyond his current spell at Portman Road next season.

Simpson who has been a big hit at Portman Road since joining in the loan window, says ‘If Ipswich were promoted to the Premier League I would love to be involved here.’

However, Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson has told the youngster that he is very much part of his plans next season for his side’s probable title defence. Simpson has in the past been likened to United and England right-back Gary Neville.

  • shame…I think he would stay if we got promoted! However there is little chance of tht happening so we should let go and find someone else!

  • He came in and did a more than satisfactory job. At least we have a guide as to the kind of player we want in that position.

  • Danny certainly earned his pay and has made a significant contribution whilst he’s been at Portman Road, it’s nice to hear positive comments from him too as clearly he’s enjoyed his short stay here and maybe he’s gained some experience too.
It’s a shame that players like David Nugent don’t have the same passion and drive and would rather sit on their arses doing f… all.
