Alan Shearer will NOT be taking over as Ipswich manager.
The Daily Mail reported Shearer had been interviewed by Marcus Evans while they were both in Barbados but Vital understands it was more of an informal chat and both Shearer and Evans concluded he was not right for the job.
Blues striker Michael Chopra added fuel to the fire by stating he would be ideal for the job after Shearer is understood to have called him to get the inside track on what was going wrong at Portman Road.
Shearer has also been linked with the Blackburn Rovers job but there are huge question marks over his credibility after being relegated while Newcastle boss.
