Young left-back Kurt Robinson has joined League One outfit Northampton Town on loan until January and could even face A12 rivals Colchester United tomorrow.

‘Hopefully, it will be a chance for me to be involved at first team level and that’s what I need now, the opportunity to push on and gain league experience,’ said Robinson.

Meanwhile, Cobblers manager Stuart Gray is pleased with his new addition: ‘He is a good defender and he will add depth and competition to the squad in the weeks ahead. We have a number of players approaching the 5 booking mark and we need a squad deep enough to get us through the next month.

‘We have an excellent relationship with Ipswich and I would like to thank Jim Magilton for his assistance in helping us bring Kurt to the club.’
