QPR boss Mark Hughes has opened the door for a return to Loftus Road for DJ Campbell.

Campbell, locally born in Hammersmith-born hitman has been frozen out under Hughes, playing just twice under the Welshman and was allowed to join the Blues on a three-month loan.

Campbell scored on his debut, albeit with his hand, in Saturday’s defeat to Cardiff and admitted a permanent move was not out of the question.

But with a long-term injury to QPR striker Andy Johnson, Hughes admits Campbell could be back in the new year.

Hughes told the Hounslow Chronicle: “We’re looking at all our options.

“Obviously DJ’s not played for us but circumstances change very quickly in football and fortunes of players and clubs change very quickly.

“DJ needs to go and get some games, but you never say never in this game.”
