Under 23 sides involved in this season’s Premier League Cup now know their opposition.

The Group stage draw was announced the other day and for those with more of an eye on their potential next generation there could be some interesting clashes.

Reigning Under 21 Cup champions West Ham United face senior Premier League champions Leicester City, and it’s not just Category 1 clubs that are involved this year, the new 32 team competition also features Category 2 and 3.

The top two teams in each group will progress through to the final 16, and from the last 16 stage eac tie will be one off knockouts, with extra time and penalties the order of the day if necessary.

Like all the Under 23 changes this season, sides can feature three overage outfield players with an overage goalkeeper should they choose.

Dates and venues will be confirmed by clubs in due course once agreement has been made in their relevant fixture calendars.
