Adam Proudlock’s delight at returning to action overshadowed the disappointment of a defeat on his debut.
Proudlock was sacked by Sheffield Wednesday for breaches in their cde of conduct last year and he is relishing the chance to resurrect his career at Portman Road.
‘Obviously I’m disappointed with the result like the rest of the lads but I felt I did okay when I came on and it’s great to be back playing football again.
‘I can’t wait now for our home game against Coventry on Tuesday. Hopefully we can put the Reading game behind us and show people what this team can do. We have looked sharp in training but didn’t really get going on Sunday.’
‘I thought it was in but that’s the way my luck has been going lately. My fitness was okay, though. I was blowing a bit at the end but I’m not far away from full fitness.’
