McKenna Needs To Reshuffle His Pack!

Our heavy defeat to West Ham United has convinced a lot of people that Mckenna has to make changes for the forthcoming fixture against Everton at Portman Road. One man may not be right but can all of these be wrong? I think he needs to reshuffle.

So where do we start with all of this? It became blatantly apparent that Ben Johnson was our weakest link at the back against the Hammers, and his ridiculous back pass to Muric which landed on his foot with ice on it, suggests that he has not adapted to life in the Town team as well as we might have hoped. That thumb injury that kept Axel Tuinzebe out of the side is already working against us, and McKenna has to consider ways of cutting out those silly errors that are costing us dearly, and he knows it!

Ben Johnson will do well to find himself on bench warming duties next time around, and I see other changes to the team too. Luke Woolfenden should be reinstalled because he did little wrong in our first three encounters when he started and was unlucky to lose his place to Dara O’Shea. After our diabolic defending against West Ham, I can see him coming back into the side to replace the Irish international.

Kalvin Phillips might also find himself on the bench because I think it is about time we had Massimo Luongo back in the side to partner Sam Morsy in midfield. They worked a treat together in the Championship, and if Sam can do it then so too can Massimo, who is one year younger! We have lost the momentum that we had, so this might be a way to resurrect it! I would bring Conor Chaplin back into his favoured 10 role and move Omari Hutchinson back out on the right where he was so successful last time. Or, if McKenna favours Szmodics in the 10 role, then for God’s sake play him there!
