Argentine midfielder Luciano Civelli probably won’t be playing again this season, as he continues to recover from a very serious knee ligament injury.
Manager Roy Keane says he hopes to have Civelli back in pre-season, although he had initially been pencilled in for a return to training this month.
‘Luca has gone back to Argentina for two months and I have written him off until pre-season. It has been tough for him. He’s had a few setbacks and is making slow progress but he’s had a serious injury,’ explained Roy.
‘We had a chat last week and he asked if he could go home and I’m comfortable with that. For the foreign lads it can be better for them to be back home and our medical people will be in touch with him every week.
‘He’ll be using a clinic in Argentina and it will help him being home, not just physically but mentally as well.’
