Ipswich have finally secured the signing of Colchester United’s frontman Kevin Lisbie for a fee believed to be somewhere in the region of £600,000.

Lisbie, last season’s fourth top-scorer in the Championship, has signed a three-year deal with Town that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2011.

The Jamaican international will now become part of a select group who have represented both Norwich and Ipswich, Andy Marshall being the last player to have played for both Town and the Canaries.

Colchester offered Lisbie an improved contract in a last-ditch attempt to keep him south of Ipswich, but those efforts have evidently failed and the lure of Championship football ultimately proved too much.
