Ipswich Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Tom Lawrence in the two all draw with Reading at the weekend at Portman Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Lawrence was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Lawrence continued his electric form in front of goal to earn Ipswich a point against high-flying Reading. His second goal came from a driving run and ferocious effort in off the crossbar, adding to his recent selection of wonder strikes.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Lawrence for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the point.

Full Team:

James McKeown (Grimsby Town), Cheick Keita (Birmingham City), Jake Cooper (Millwall), Peter Clarke (Oldham Athletic), Michael Hefele (Huddersfield Town), Mitchell Dijks (Norwich City), David Vaughan (Nottingham Forest), John Fleck (Sheffield United), David Wheeler (Exeter City), Tom Lawrence (Ipswich Town), Matty Godden (Stevenage).

Manager – Phil Brown (Southend United).
