Manager Jim Magilton has conceded that he will allow Spaniard Ivan Campo to leave Portman Road on loan, despite saying that the ex-Real Madrid is still part of his squad.

‘He needs games, and if the opportunity came to loan him out – and it suited Ivan and Ipswich Town – then I would let him go,’ said Jim.

‘Ivan remains very much part of my squad. It would have to be the right club for him and for us.’

After first signing, Campo took longer than anticipated to gain full fitness, but made a noticeable impact off-the-ball on the pitch, and has been praised by Magilton for his influence on the younger players.

He opened his account for the Blues against Barnsley earlier in the season.
