Is Attack The Best Form Of Defence For Town?

Town have goals in them of this there is no doubt but so of course do Hull, who are the second highest goal scorers in the Championship at the moment.

We are joint third in the scoring charts with Bristol City but if boss Mick McCarthy decides that this game at the KCOM could be a three point banker, then he might be persuaded to go with an all out attack!

Points will be hard to come by after this match and the Blues face a very demanding five games in just fifteen days! McCarthy will be forced to rest some players and give others a chance, and there will be those who find themselves playing five in five and keeper Bartosz Bialkowski will be one of them.

Hull City are really struggling since they were unceremoniously dumped out of the Premier league and now find themselves in 20th place in the Championship, seemingly going backwards.

This could be a good time to play them but only if we start well. If we can sneak an early goal then the restless natives will be even more restless and they may start calling for the head of their Russian manager Leonid Slutsky, as well as Egyptian vice-chairman Ehab and his father Assem Allam, who many regard as the main reason for the clubs demise.

The Tigers have lost their last three matches and are leaking lots of goals on a regular basis these days. Their manager is under severe pressure and the fans are frustrated. These are indeed the ingredients for immediate discontent if they start badly tomorrow afternoon on Humberside.

Hull City will welcome back defender Michael Hector, after he missed the 4-1 defeat at Sheffield United through suspension and midfielder Evandro could make his first appearance of the season.

Striker Fraizer Campbell will be missing though, as he has to serve a one-match ban.

If you follow football stats however, you may be dismayed to know that Hull City have won seven of their last nine games against Ipswich in all competitions, whilst drawing the other two and to make matters worse, Mick McCarthy has never won a league match at the KCOM Stadium in four previous attempts so far and that is why I think a draw is certainly on the cards tomorrow afternoon, because statistically it is long overdue.

Town should go on the offensive from the off and if they do, there could be rich pickings for their endeavours – especially if the Blues score first!
