Roy Keane, earlier this week, admitted that he, like everyone else, will be watching the world cup with more than a passing glance.

He is hoping, as he told the official Ipswich website, to spot a gem among some of the ‘lesser’ nations taking part in the world cup as he knows players from the ‘superstar’ ones will be beyond Ipswich: ‘I’ll be watching games like everyone else and maybe there are realistic targets out there for us.

‘Obviously it would be very hard for us to get one of the top players from the likes of Italy, Spain or Brazil but from the smaller nations, why not?’

From the early stages of this tournament there are a few players that play for the likes of South Africa, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Slovakia, North Korea and maybe Honduras that would be a worth a second look for me.

Has anyone, that you think Ipswich could try to sign, caught your eye?
