The SuperBlues can leapfrog Millwall with a win at the Den today and pull themselves even further from the dreaded drop.
Town may not be playing the most attractive of football but it is effective, as seven clean sheets in 10 games shows.
Two goal match winner on Saturday David McGoldrick is eying another strike at Millwall after doing well there in the past.
But he knows it will not be easy against the Lions.
‘Everyone is fighting for their lives in the Championship,” he told the Daily Star.
“We are a hard team to play against now and we need to go to Millwall and show the same sort of character as we did against Leeds.”
McGoldrick regards the Den as a lucky ground.
“I scored my first ever senior goal as a 17-year-old when I was at Southampton at Millwall and I fancy getting another there this time.”
Even with McGoldrick hitting form, with three goals in his past four games, Ipswich are the lowest scorers in the Championship.
Yet McGoldrick added: “People moan we didn`t score enough but we don`t concede many either and we are very difficult to beat.”
Millwall manager Kenny Jacket told London24: ‘We’ve had two great away wins – six points against Charlton and Leicester is excellent.
‘We want to get a win in front of our own fans because there is a feel-good factor at the club.
‘In our last four games, we have won three and drawn one without conceding. Defensively we have been very solid after going quite a while without a clean sheet. It’s a good run we want to continue.’
Millwall will be without Chris taylor who has agroin strain.
Always does well against his old club
Mick McCarthy is likely to make changes with Lee Martin coming in for Jay Tabb who took a knock in the 3-0 win over Leeds.
