A Brilliant tactical substitution by Mick McCarthy turned the game Town’s way.

Trailing by a Stephen Dobbie goal, netted midway through the first half, McCarthy used the break to get Paul Taylor and Frank Nouble into the game in place of the ineffective Luke Hyam and Jay Tabb.

It worked a treat as both subs netted in the second half.

But when it looked like that elusive first away win of the season would evade them once more after Steve Davies scored for Blackpool in the 90th minute, up popped Daryl Murphy.

He nodded in his fifth goal of the season when he got on the end of a Taylor corner and it crept under Matt Golkes.

Town had to make do without Tommy Smith, who was a surprise exclusion due to international duty with New Zealand, while Aaron Cresswell was suspended.

Big Frank has been getting grief from some quarters but he proved his worth with a good finish while Taylor showed quality for Town’s second.
