Ipswich Town have announced the appointment of former Walsall manager Chris Hutchings as the club’s new assistant manager to Paul Jewell.

Hutchings had been widely expected to rejoin Jewell at Town having been sacked by the League One Saddlers on 4 January. The 53-year-old has previously worked with the new Ipswich boss at Bradford City, Wigan Athletic and Derby County.

Meanwhile Jewell has confirmed that most of the existing Town coaching staff are set to remain at Portman Road, including reserves coach Chris Kiwomya. The news comes after Ian McParland and Tony Loughlan left the club last week as part of a staff reshuffle.
