Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich showed their fighting quality to come rom a two-goal deficit to draw at barnsley.
The Reds took the lead after 12 minutes when Chris O’Grady finished of a fine individual move by firing into the far corner.
Although Town dominated for most of the second half and went close several times, Tykes’ substitute Tomasz Cywka fired in a free-kick to double their advantage.
But then the Blues gave the Reds a bloody nose as Christophe Berra pulled one back after 81 minutes.
Town’s top scorer David McGoldrick equalised with a deflected free-kick and the Blues could have won it a few minutes later but Jay Tabb flashed wide.
Ipswich remain seventh and look to crack the top six over the coming weeks.
