Ipswich will not be allowed to bring in an extra goalkeeper to ease the current crisis at the club.

With the news that Richard Wright is out for around four months, Town are down to just one fit senior keeper, and that’s Arran Lee-Barrett who is only on a short term contract. Ian McLoughlin would be next in line to take the number one jersey, but the 18-year-old is still considered to be a youth team player.

Lee-Barrett will almost certainly make his first start for the club against Bristol City on Saturday, with Football League rules stating that no club is allowed to bring in an extra goalkeeper outside of the transfer or loan window, unless they can prove that they have no fit professional glovesmen.
