Spurs have submitted an offer to Ipswich to the tune of £5 million for Connor Wickham.

The Mail claims Tottenham will loan him back to Town next season if they secure the signature of the Blues’ hottest property on a permanent basis.

The 17-year-old has really come on in the final stretch of the season and bagged a last gasp winner against Scunthorpe, as well as important goals against Derby and away at Newcastle. It’s no surprise other clubs have been looking at him, and there have previously been reports of the likes of Man U and Liverpool sending scouts to watch him.

But this is the first time we’ve heard anything of a bid for Connor, but £5 million in the bank isn’t going to get us promoted, Wickham might.
