Death Knell For Ipswich’s Season

The inability to sell Aaron Cresswell, most probably down to the owner’s greed, and their subsequent failure to bring in a quality keeper, right back, midfielder with pace and a proper goalscorer, has probably ended what faint hopes we had of being promoted.

Ironically, as he is probably our best player, and some would argue against that, Ipswich needed to sell Aaron Cresswell because his value was over-inflated, and in turn that meant MM was unable to add to his squad.

Of course Marcus Evans, who said five years ago that he would only stay five years unless Town were promoted to the Premier League, will lay this latest failure on the door of the Fair Play rules, but we all know that is a load of old tosh, as we have seen elsewhere.

It is pretty clear to oat, apart from the blue-tinted brigade, that Town are nowhere near good enough to even be contenders, and if they are not careful could be struggling to fight relegation.

Added to that, don’t be surprised in MM doesn’t depart for international shores before the cuckoos start spitting again.
