Sheffield United’s striker James Beattie has been highlighted as the ‘Dangerman’ for Town’s upcoming game against Sheffield United.

Ipswich fans will know all about Beattie, he is a player that loves to score against Town.

The tall, strong, Premiership quality striker has the ability to cause aerial problems for the Ipswich defence for the full 90 minutes.

However this isn’t the only part of his game. Once the ball is at his feet he turns on the pace and can streak past defences and, unlike Haynes, he has the ability to cooly slot the ball past any world class keeper.

Beattie has already been banging in the goals this season, with 8 league goals to his name already.

Beattie started his career at Blackburn, before Southampton spotted some potential and paid £1m for him in 1998. After making 204 appearances and scoring 68 goals for Southampton, he made a £6m move to Everton. After an unsuccesful spell at Goodison Park, lasting just a few seasons, Sheffield United splashed out £4m on him. Beattie has settled well at Sheffield United, scoring 30 goals in 56 games for the Blades. He looks set to continue making a name for himself in England’s second league, but will always have one eye on the big time again.
