Dangerman: Jamal Campbell-Ryce

Tricky winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce has been highlighted as the ‘Dangerman’ for Town’s upcoming game against Barnsley.

The 25 year old Jamaican winger has impressed against Town in the past, recieving a standing ovation when Rotheram took him off at Portman Road.

Comfortable on either flank, although usually on the right, the short winger has pace and skills in abundance. Capable of slipping past any full back in the division, it’s not just his assists valuable to the side. Currently he is Barnsley’s top scorer, with 7 goals so far this season.

Something of a journeyman, Campbell-Ryce has already played for 9 clubs in just over 8 years.

After starting out at Charlton he failed to impress, meaning loan spells at Leyton Orient, Wimbledon and Chesterfield.

Rotheram took him on in 2004, where he made 31 appearances in the season and looked to be settling. However, relegtion caused financial problems for the club, who loaned him out to Southend for the season. From here another loan move to Colchester emerged, albeit a less successful one.

Southend signed him permanently in 2006, before Barnsley bought him at the beginning of last season.
