Ipswich have priced Aaron Cresswell out of the transfer market after asking £5million.

Everton were among a number of top flight clubs interested in the former Tranmere left back but refuse to pay over the odds and have instead gone in for Feyenoord’s promising defender Bruno Martins Indi, should Manchester United successfully land Leighton Baines.

Fulham and Crystal Palace could still come in today for Cresswell, but again will not go to the £5m owner Marcus Evans is demanding.

That won’t upset manager Mick McCarthy too much, although it will mean he has to work with what he has got and with town just one point above the bottom three, that may be of some concern.
